We sit on the Santana surf break, and there are over 13 notable breaks in Popoyo surf zone of Nicaragua with rideable waves almost every day of the year, a boat, or a car ride away. Whether it’s lessons for beginner surfers, coaching sessions to improve your skills, or rip world-famous waves, it’s easy to make the most of your time here. Surfboard Rentals

Don’t want to pack your full quiver, and need a surfboard rental? we have you covered. We rent shortboards and funboards to make sure you don’t miss a session at the Santana break in front of the hotel and other beaches at Popoyo.

Boat Trips - Surf & Fishing

Surfing - a boat trip to various surf breaks is highly recommended to take advantage of the Popoyo surf zone. Costa Oeste can arrange for half-day or full-day boat trips for groups of up to 8 people. We can stock up the cooler with snacks, lunch, and drinks for a day full of stoke.

Fishing - take a boat ride and catch your own dinner. Our kitchen can prepare it for you. A local fishing experience. Snappers, Jacks, and Roosterfish nearshore and Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Sailfish offshore. You will head out nearshore and offshore depending on conditions in a “panga” (local boat) with shade for a half-day or full day, up to you! Up to 8 guests per panga. We can stock up the cooler with snacks, lunch, and drinks for a memorable day fishing on the Pacific Coast of Nicaragua.

Beachside Yoga

Deepen your relaxation, improve balance and flexibility, and breathe sea air when you practice at Costa Oeste. We can arrange for group or private classes that suit your practice goals. A local instructor will lead curated sessions. The soundtrack? The waves, of course.

Massage

Relax, rejuvenate, and unwind or work out kinks and muscle tension from your surf session with an in-room massage by a local licensed practitioner. Please give us a full day’s notice for scheduling.

Horseback Riding

Experience Playa Santana and the Popoyo area with a private, guided horseback ride along the beach, into the woods, or on trails with dramatic ocean views. Please give us a full day’s notice for scheduling.

Day Trips & Adventures

We can help arrange the perfect local adventure. Explore the Spanish colonial town of Granada or pristine Laguna de Apoyo. Or try rock climbing or hiking around Volcan Masaya. You might even help baby turtles get back safely to the ocean in season.
